“Super Bowl’s New Dishes and Mascots”

Super Bowl never cease to amaze me that indeed it is possible to develop gastronomic authentic Chinese specialties all well within the budget without compromising taste and quality. Their new dishes: Golden Weave Cut US Frozen Potatoes with Minced Pork (comprised of premium basket weave cut US Frozen Potatoes packed with lean ground pork meat and deep fried to a golden brown crisp), Beef Fillet Chinese Style (tender and succulent beef steaks atop a bed of red and green bell peppers and onions bathed in a sweet, tasty Beijing sauce), Crispy Fish Fillet with Lemon and Plum Sauce (whole breaded fish fillet combined with minced vegetables and select spices doused with spicy plum and lemon sauce), and Hot & Spicy Chicken (tender and juicy cuts of seasoned bone-in chicken fried to a golden brown crisp and mixed with onions, bell peppers and secret spices) were launched last July 1, 2009 for a limited time only.

his promotion is made possible through Super Bowl of China’s collaboration with the United States Potato Board or USPB. The USPB is the central organizing force in implementing programs that will increase demand for US potatoes around the world and is supported and directed solely by 4,000 commercial potato growers operating in the United States.

Each of their new dish is delicious but I especially like the Golden Weave Cut Frozen Potatoes with Minced Pork and the Crispy Fish Fillet with Lemon and Plum Sauce which I deem complements their original all-time favorites especially when balikbayan relatives are here, such as Yang Chow Fried Rice, Birthday Noodles and Dimsum Combination Platter. Other yummy menu mainstays that appeals to the Pinoy palate are: Beef with Broccoli, Szechuan Shrimp, Crispy Fish Fillet in Light Soy Sauce, Crispy Noodles with Assorted Seafood, Fried Crispy Chicken, Deer Fried Cuttlefish with Spicy Salt, Braised Tofu with Mushroom, Steamed Fish Fillet with Garlic, and who could forget the two Filipino staples from Chinese influence, Sweet and Sour Pork and Lemon Chicken.

*Super Bowl of China’s Fun Foodie Mascots: Happi and Lucky
Both born in China, brother Happi (blessed with a heightened sense of smell) and sister Lucky (blessed with a finely tuned and hypersensitive palate)were fortunate to have the best Chinese Master Chefs as their neighbors thereby honing their gifts at an early age. They set out to combine their gifts and duplicate recipes as a surprise for their hardworking farmer parents.

A well-meaning relative brought the dish to the Mayor’s table and the latter summoned the kids to test them. They were able to replicate the Master Chef’s creation perfectly but it was unlawful in their town to allow kids to practice as chefs. Their parents though saddened, decided to send them off on a bowl-shaped sailboat with provisions and their compiled recipes throughout the years to seek their fortune in a new land.

They landed on Philippine shores and decided to stay and bring to Filipinos who love to eat, bond with family and friends over hearty meals and an innate fondness for traditional Chinese cuisine, super servings of super delicious food, super service, and an over-all super experience through the Super Bowl of China Restaurants.
