Clash of the Titans 3D (2010)

In “Clash of the Titans,” a war between mankind and the gods is at hand. Perseus (Sam Worthington) unbeknownst is the son of Zeus (Liam Neeson), is in a perilous journey to defeat the Kraken monster spawned from Hades (Ralph Fiennes), planning to seize power from Zeus.

This flick is a 3D version taken from the 1981 cult classic. In my opinion though, the 1981 and the 2010 versions cannot be compared. For one, the latter is in 3D and focuses more on Perseus, while the 1981 cult classic focused more on mythology (relationship between man and gods) as a whole. There are also glitches with the interpretation of certain mythological characters particularly with the origins of Perseus but that is for the critiques to discuss about. On a lighter note, the mechanical owl made appearances on both versions. Continue Reading »

Clash of the Titans grosses P47.54M in two days

MANILA, April 05 — Warner Bros.’ “Clash of the Titans” demolished Kraken-like box-office records in the Philippines as it posted a nationwide, two-day opening weekend gross of a monstrous P 47.54-million for the April 3-4 period. This was announced today by Francis Soliven, general manager of Warner Bros. (F.E.), Inc. which distributed the film.

The fantasy adventure loosely based on Greek mythology easily captured the No. 1 slot for the competitive Easter weekend which saw four big movies opening. Continue Reading »
