Manila International Auto Show: “Crossing Boundaries”

As a kid I’ve always loved automobiles, the smell of grease, speed and racing. We had three mini-auto shops dealing in reconstruction, remodelling, repainting or made-to-order cars, trucks and jeeps (usually favored by uniformed authorities). I remember my first doohickey-controlled car at the age of five (a flaming red Corvette), brought home by my father from abroad. My first ride (even as a minor..yes, our father spoiled us) was a bright red Jeep Wrangler, THE one used by Winston cigarettes in their commercial back then (they painted white stripes for the commercial). In high school I secretly kart raced after school and in college, joined a few drag races (mimicking Formula 1′s Schumacher) with the boyfriend..(God bless my parents soul..please don’t haunt me!)
