Sa-wat-dee! August is Flavors of Thailand Festival at Mariott Hotel Manila. My sister and I joined fellow foodie bloggers to savour authentic Thai dishes by Thai Chef Thanathorn Krobsuay, who came all the way from JW Marriott Bangkok.

Aside from Chef Thanathron’s specialty for the night, we partook of the buffet fare all freshly cooked, delicious and of course some are spicy!

A-roi! For starters I chose Spicy Glass Noodles (vermicelli) Salad perfect to perk up the palate and Thai Iced Tea to counter some of the spicy taste. Then Tom Yum Goong Soup though spicy, we went back for seconds because of its creamy taste enveloping the shrimp. Deep Fried Pork Canapes, Spicy Wok-Fried Seafood, Green Curry Chicken followed, all paired with Thai Fried Rice with Shrimp. Of course what’s a Thai food Festival without Pad Thai right? I must say their Pad Thai is very consistent with a sweet and nutty taste worth leaving your diet for!

To cap off the gustatory feast we had Thai Ice Cream! Marriott Cafe also has a great variety of ice cream flavors all freshly made which you can embellish with more toppings and syrups (pistachio, marshmallows, caramel syrup, chocolate syrup, etc.) A-roi indeed and Khorb Koon!
