As we get older by man-made measurement of existence celebrating another year becomes a bit of a drag, besides its just another day. But to me, everyday is a “birth” day. The moment we open our eyes and become aware of every breathe we take and that another day is up ahead we also have another birthday. I’ve had my share of NDE’s (Near Death Experience/s) and if you count it, its my third or fourth lease in life. That’s why for me there’s no point in holding grudges, hoarding anything, holding people back or simply mulling over things that have passed. I avoid negative thoughts, people, etc. simply because what is the point? There are ways to look at things in a positive light and heck yes, count your blessings however simple they may be.
I have said this before and will reiterate any chance I get that I thank my family for putting up with me. All the phases, teenage angst, weird hobbies, unusual educational preferences..everything! Friends whom have come and gone, returned, constant, became enemies..everyone! I miss my parents and Nanay Inday everyday because it would have been nice to have had the chance to serve them and shared more experiences. But I know my strength comes from them, their reminders, our long talks..I’ve kept them in my heart.
My birthday month was filled with so many adventures, travels, wonderful surprises a cornucopia of celebrations! I thank the Lord everyday for the infinite blessings that my family and I receive and always make it a point to give back in any way we can preferably anonymously. I did not wish for any gadget, accessory, etc. just the fervent hope that my family will stay healthy and that the shower of blessings will continue. Regrets, well as I always say and deeply believe in, it is never too late to be what I might have been and that nothing is impossible. I know in God’s time everything no matter how painful it is to sacrifice or how long the wait..it will all fall into place.Indeed it is a happy “birth” day everyday!
*Thank you TGIFriday’s TriNoMa for the wonderful surprise and dinner..always a wonderful experince!
