Yahoo! Philippines announced its annual edition of Year in Review (yearinreview.yahoo.com), the highly-anticipated look-back that identifies the top stories and trends of the year based on millions of monthly unique visitor activity on its network and consumer searches.

The top searches for Yahoo! Philippines in 2011 were mostly showbiz newsmakers including Shamcey Supsup, Sam Pinto, Shalani Soledad, Andi Eigenmann, AJ Perez and Marian Rivera who made headlines for their make-ups, break-ups, national and international notoriety and fame. Shamcey, who clinched fourth place at the 60th Miss Universe pageant held in Brazil, led the 2011 search queries, bypassing her showbiz contemporaries while the Azkals, (Philippine national men’s football team), natural calamities such as earthquakes, tsunamis and typhoons trailed behind.
