At the Creating Shared Value Forum held recently at the New World hotel in Makati, Mario Capanzana, Head of the Food and Nutrition Research Institute (an office under the Department of Science and Technology) said, “Corporations can help solve RP malnutrition by Creating Shared Value”.  Said forum was attended by representatives of government, the business community, non-governmental organizations and other sectors in attendance lauded the event. This can be effective if  food companies, NGOs, aid agencies and other sectors of society  invest resources in developing and promoting nutritious, safe and affordable food products for the public, especially for the indigents. Grown Ups: Childhood Friends reunite (2010)

Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, and Rob Schneider head up an all-star comedy cast in Columbia Pictures’ Grown Ups, the story of five childhood friends who reunite thirty years later to meet each others’ families for the first time.  When their beloved former basketball coach dies, they return to their home town to spend the summer at the lake house where they celebrated their championship years earlier.

Sandler came up with the idea of a guy who feels like he and his family have lost their perspective of what’s important in life. So, when he unexpectedly has to go back to his home town, he decides to use it as an opportunity to get back to his roots and get his family on the right track. Renowned music professor Carmencita Guanzon Arambulo has several reasons to be happy. Throughout five decades of guidance, dedication, and passion for excellence in her musical craft, “ Mrs. A”, (a nickname coined by her students) has launched many a musical career spanning several generations.

To celebrate her 50th anniversary of teaching, St. Paul University Manila, Mrs. A’s alma mater, in cooperation with her own Greenhills Music Studio, presents “Mrs. A’s Opus” – a tribute concert on August 1, at five o’clock p.m. at the Fleur de Lis Auditorium of St. Paul University Manila.
