Voice of McDonald’s (VOM) Season 4 Fan Favorite: Vote for Pinoy Florence Rafols

Pinoys root for various contestants in reality competitions on local and Cable TV (just like the recent Jessica Sanchez “save”). Unbeknownst to a great majority, another Pinay is already poised to take the world by storm. Best yet, you can have a hand at making this a reality.

On behalf of McDonald’s Philippines, I’d like to share and invite Pinoys to show their support for Filipino talent by voting for Florence Rafols at http://www.voiceofmcdonalds.com/voting/FlorenceRafols for Voice of McDonald’s (VOM) Season 4 Fan Favorite.

VOM is a global singing contest exclusive to McDdonald’s restaurant crew and managers in more than 1.6M McDonald’s employees found in 118 countries worldwide, culminating at the Worldwide Convention to be held in Orlando, Florida on April 26. Unique to this season is the Fan Favorite component – a chance at one more honor and a cash prize of $5,000, before the Worldwide Convention. Videos of the 16 global semi-finalists are posted for audiences to get a taste of each contestant’s singing prowess. The online voting will go on until April 23.

I do hope dear readers that you’ll support by participating in this worldwide initiative to put the Philippines on the map.

CrownAsia (a subsidiary of Vista Land & Lifescapes): “Discover the Islands” Photo Contest 2012

Vistaland’s The Islands is inspired by the world’s great summer destinations. What better time to launch a photo contest than summertime.

The theme for the contest is “Discovering The Islands.” Photographers must be able to capture the beauty of The Islands and how Vista Land has created a thriving community that exude concept and design inspired by international scenery, and built around the natural landscapes of progressive Dasmariñas.

Though not a participant, I tried to capture with my trusty digital camera what I find most appealing with the picturesque property. Trust me, its hard to stop clicking because every inch is just photo-worthy!

The Islands by Vista Land:

Covering an expansive 155-hectare lifescape is a masterplanned community inspired by the world’s great summer destinations. Vista Land’s The Islands is the only development in Dasmariňas, Cavite masterplanned in a large scale, which showcases a panorama of lush greens and vast open spaces accentuated by colorful blooms and quaint homes.

Crown Asia, a subsidiary of Vista Land & Lifescapes—the country’s largest home builder- has established itself as the forerunner in building quality theme-inspired homes and communities that cater to society’s upper middle income segment. For the last 16 years, the company has continued to fulfill the dreams of successful Filipino families as well as uplift their standard of living.

Leisure amenities such as playparks, clubhouse and basketball court provide you and your family with a more convenient and laid-back home life. At Amalfi, you have the perfect home for a life that’s both relaxed and sophisticated.

Wrath of the Titans (2012): The Greek god actors

Joining Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes in Warner Bros.’ new fantasy adventure “Wrath of the Titans” are new cast members playing critical roles. They are Edgar Ramirez (“The Bourne Ultimatum”) as Ares, Toby Kebbell (“Prince of Persia”) as Agenor and Rosamund Pike (“Die Another Day”) as Queen Andromeda.

Venezuelan actor Edgar Ramirez took on the part of Ares, embittered son of Zeus (Neeson). Resentful of the attention he feels his father has bestowed on his half-brother Perseus (Worthington), the god of war is out for blood.

Ramirez relished the role. “I grew up watching fantasy movies and always had a wish to be in one,” he reveals. “So to play Ares, one of the most prominent Olympian gods and, by definition, the greatest warrior ever, was a chance to fulfill that in a really fun way. Ares enjoys fighting for the sake of fighting; the heat of battle is what ignites this character. He’s violent and aggressive, with a very big ego, yet fragile in a way—his pride is easily deflated by what he perceives to be Zeus’ preference for Perseus, the son who never loved Zeus. Ares feels excluded, so when Hades presents him with an opportunity for revenge, he takes it.”

Another slighted offspring of the gods is Agenor, Poseidon’s (Danny Huston) long lost son who has turned into quite the criminal. Needing his innate expertise on the seas, Perseus seeks out Agenor, and finds him rotting in Queen Andromeda’s battlefield jail.
