I didn’t have a “normal” childhood so to speak..you know, the long-haired, barbie doll-toting, pink everything  little girl. I had Spock’s hairdo ’til I was 10 years old (yeah, father and daughter Trekkie here!), played with Legos and puzzles, and red was/is still my favorite color. Aside from anything about cars, guns, Montagut, marching band music, languages and books, my father and I shared a passion for timepieces.

Because his work required him to be abroad most of the year,  my father preferred those big heavy duty watches, water-proof, and automatic in gold/silver James Bond-ish types. My favorites are a gold vertical FIFA watch worn as a necklace (given when I was still in my elementary days) and one of my mother’s Rolex (which I wore during my Interior Design thesis in memory of her and as a security blanket).

Brands are of no moment just as long as the quality is at par and its a plus if its done the traditional watchmakers way. Of course  I donned colorful watches in my teen years (those allowed by our high school) as the fad went. And up to now even if its a kid’s watch, I find a ways to incorporate it in my wardrobe especially gifts from dear friends (Barbie, Disney etc.).

Am not too keen on wearing the whole Philippine map or flag to show my patriotism (and need I say there are those who go overboard) but that watch you see above.. the Ice-World (WOB.PH.U.S.10), I’m aiming to get and wear proudly! I practically drooled at a timepiece again!
