Invictus 2009: His people needed a leader. He gave them a champion.

I have been keenly waiting for for a lot of reasons; holds a soft place in my family’s heart because my father has spent more than a decade in and out of said country during his lifetime and needless to say we have been greatly influenced by its culture, music, politics, etc.; has been a favorite since I was a kid and in my opinion, born to play the role of ; has fiercely adapted the South African dialect for his role and as director (also my father’s favorite) is a mixture for an epic flick.
This silver screen adaptation of the true story of how in his first term as the , together with the captain of , united their country through the former’s endorsement of rugby and the World Cup in 1995 is very poignant, deeply depicts the apartheid-torn country..plus Oscar nominations, need I say more?
A must-see for idealistic teenagers, great for world history flick review and for everyone who believes that the spirit can triumph against any obstacle.
