An estimated 1 billion people in the world live on less than $1 a day. In the the Philippines, 33% of the population suffers from extreme poverty and this number continues to rise.
Know what it is like to live how they live by joining us in a simple immersion activity sponsored by the UNFPA on Oct. 11, Sunday, 10am to 2pm. Experience what underprivileged Filipinos go through everyday by interacting with some families in an underserved area and find out how you can help end poverty by joining this year’s Stand United, Fight Poverty campaign.
Stand United, Fight Poverty is a global mobilization led by the UNFPA that calls for countries to take urgent action to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), a set of eight time-bound, concrete and specific targets aimed at significantly reducing, if not eradicating extreme poverty by 2015.
