Soapdish..My Favorite Comedy Flick
Soapdish (Comedy, 1991)
This film centers on a scandal-ridden soap opera (telenovela if you wish), entitled “The Sun Also Sets”. This flick has cured most of my boringĀ insomniac nights for more than five years now.
What keeps me viewing it is not just for its Golden Globe Nomination or the stellar cast and their first few “glittering ” moments in Hollywood albeit cameo roles, but it surely mirrors what “soaps” and their actors go through in general.
What do I mean? Well, the suffering storylines (lovers separated, kids swapped, a tragic death, someone is afflicted with amnesia, without knowing one is the parent of another, reapperance of “presumed dead” casts, “beautiful homeless people”, etc.) name it its all there even before the show has jumped the shark..its a given and time-tested formula!
The roster of celebrities in this flick are: Sally Field, Whoopi Goldberg, Kevin Kline, Robert Downet, Jr., Cathy Moriarty, Teri Hatcher, Elisabeth Shue and Kathy Najimi.
So, even if just for LOLs why not grab a copy at your favorite flick shop, don’t forget the chips and soda..go home and plop on a comfy sofa, chair, bed (whatever!) and enjoy! *oh yeah, best viewed with family and friends too!*
*P.S.
Anyone who can give me a copy of its soundtrack..please do reply here..tnxies! =]
Cheers! =]
