The Red Shoes..not just a love story
*clockwise: Nikki Gil and Marvin Agustin (Lead Stars); Ms. Tessie Tomas (Mrs. Marcos’ impersonator); Me with the actual red shoes; An actual Former First Lady Imelda R. Marcos pair of red shoes used in this flick
It took a while for me to make a flick review for because it is indeed not just a love story..actually, it is an amalgamation of different love stories (love for a mother, a sweetheart, the Philippines, for freedom and justice, etc.)
Before watching it may seem the story centers on how Lucas stole one of Mrs. Marcos’ pair of. Well, as I’ve said, it’s a combination of different forms of love. It is not a documentary, not an anti-Marcos flick nor is it just a chick flick. Again, no spoilers here, just the “NOTs” because I want to disspell the presumptions of many and which I was also guilty of before seeing it..I recommend everyone to watch it!
